As a leading UK engineering foundry, Thomas Dudley is vastly experienced in manufacturing grey and ductile iron castings to customer specifications. We’ve invested heavily in state-of-the-art Disamatic moulding lines to provide the underwater cable industry with quality assure cast iron component.
MANUFACTURING
Our Disamatic 2110, 131Z and D3-Z-425 lines were installed in 2010, 2012 and 2019 respectively and together, allow up to 1,100 moulds per hour to be manufactured.
All Disamatic lines are fully computerised and capable of holding 9,999 unique pattern recipes. Equipped with automated optical pouring, temperature control and automatic inoculation, they enable casting quality and consistency to be precisely controlled.
Our Kunel Wagner moulding line provides the perfect production platform for larger CPS, Cable Protection Systems for export cables up to 400mm dia.

We have developed a unique ability to support customers through rapid prototyping and new component manufacturing; our Award Winning design and development support provides a flexible solution for customers throughout every stage of a project.
THE COMPLETE SOLUTION
We manufacture bolted and boltless Cable Protection Systems (CPS and Ballast Weights from 50mm – 400mm dia; providing cast iron components for Offshore Power, Umbilical and Telecom Cable sectors.
Our UK foundries and team of engineering specialists are vastly experienced across a broad range of sectors and have the capability to produce the most complex cast iron components utilising:
- The latest Disa/KW technology
- A full in-house coremaking, coating and drying capability and pattern making facility
- A comprehensive finishing capability to enable castings to be supplied machined and in a range of specialist coatings; painted, galvanised or powder coated to any spec
- Our warehousing facility; spanning 35,000 sq feet allowing castings to be manufactured in the most cost effective batch quantities and securely stored
- Ductile Iron, ADI and Grey Iron, that can be supplied with Aluminium or Zinc sacrificial anodes for corrosion protection purpose
